While the Internet is rolling with the news of arrival of iPhone 5, Google has buzzed a tweet related to Android’s growth and to catch attraction of visitors. towards it.
Google’s Andy Rubin tweeted yesterday that there have been half a billion activations so far and currently growing at the rate of 1.3 million new activations everyday. Here is the tweet from Google’s Andy Rubin.
In December 2011, there were 7,00,000 activated Android devices everyday. In the time span of half year, Android has touched the 1 million milestone. This awesome growth is because of the  adoption of this popular OS by various companies like HTC, Samsung, Sony etc. The iOS is still strict with the Apple only.
Other companies are also running for their money because of this tremendous growth of Android. It seems that Android stays at the first position of wishlist of any mobile customer. BlackBerry is going through its tough time and is observing a down peak in its sale. Nokia’s condition is also not good and it’s playing trump card by adopting Windows 8 with its upcoming Nokia Lumia 920 PureView.
Android is coming up with new versions from time to time so as to keep the users interested in it. Android’s latest versions, Android 4.1 Jelly bean is now running on 1.2 percent of total Android devices. The Ice Cream Sandwich version has found its way on about 21 percent devices. Ginger Bread leads the queue here with 57.2 percent devices to add to its account.
Android is having a golden period now and is working hard to go faster and faster.
